Get to know Michelle - Part 1 - Athletics Coach

One of my greatest passions is being an Athletics Coach. The joy of working with and mentoring young athletes and watching them grow within the sport.

I have always loved Athletics since the age of 8 at my first Primary School Athletics carnival. I travelled to Canberra when I was 10 years old and won the Gold medal in the 100m sprint at the Australian Schools National Championships. Since then I have been competing in the 100m, 200m and Long Jump events at a State, National & International Level.

I have competed in various Pro Races and in 2003 I won my first Professional Race at The Campbelltown Women's Gift - 120m Race as the back marker.

I have missed out on a few athletics seasons due to various life events but I am looking forward to hopefully competing in the 2022/2023 Athletics Season if all goes well.

During my times as an athlete I have been very fortunate to have had amazing coaches by my side. The amount of knowledge and time they dedicated to me and my development in the sport is something that I will forever be grateful for.

I have been an Athletics Coach for about 5 years and worked within various schools teaching both Primary & High School Students the fundamentals of Athletics. I am also involved with my local Little Athletics Club and have a wonderful group of young athletes that have all had the joy of competing at Zone, Regional, State and National level.

It is amazing to coach them, mentor them through my own experiences and watch them grow and develop within their events.

I am looking forward to seeing what they can achieve when the Athletics seasons starts again towards the end of the year.
